During the 2019 legislative session, NH lawmakers passed Senate Bill 282. The focus of the bill was to address the critically important issue of suicide prevention for school-age children. SB 282 was created out of the recognition that suicide is a complex issue that necessitates resources from schools, families, and the community to all be harnessed in an appropriate and timely fashion in order to prevent suicide. On August 2, 2019, Governor Chris Sununu signed SB 282 into law. This resource guide is meant to assist NH schools and communities in addressing suicide prevention and ensuring compliance with SB 282/RSA 193-J.
