Recommendation 6: Increase and promote Mental Health First Aid to school staff, students, and families to provide the school community with the resources to effectively manage a mental health incident.

Update:

• Department of Education, Office of Social & Emotional Wellness, Bureau of Student Wellness has created and is implementing a plan to increase Youth Mental Health First Aid training.
• Bureau of Student Wellness has provided Youth Mental Health First Aid training to over 5,000 school employees.

Resources:

• Office of Social & Emotional Wellness contracts with UNH Cooperative Extension to provide free Youth Mental Health First Aid training to NH schools and districts.
