Train-the-Trainer Course Offerings Announced for 2023
Washington, DC, August 31, 2022 — The DHS Office of Intelligence & Analysis (I&A), National Threat Evaluation and Reporting (NTER) Office has announced the following iterations of the Instructor Development Threat Evaluation and Reporting Courses (ID-TERC) for Calendar Year 2023.
The Instructor Development Threat Evaluation and Reporting Course (ID-TERC) is a four-day in-person, or five-day virtual, training. The ID-TERC is exclusively available for those accepted into the National Threat Evaluation and Reporting (NTER) Master Trainer Program (MTP):
January 23-26, 2023 – Kentucky
March 28-31, 2023 – New York
June 6-9, 2023 – California
August 8-11, 2023 – Colorado
September 21-27, 2023 – Virtual
NTER will reimburse students for all costs associated with attending the ID-TERC, including lodging, per diem, and travel expenses.
To attend one of these courses, you must:
1. Be a current employee of a F/SLTT agency
2. Have a minimum of two years experience in a field related to public safety
3. Have your participation in the course endorsed by supervisor
Additionally, you must apply to, and be accepted into, the NTER Master Trainer Program and commit to teaching a set number of courses, utilizing NTER-provided training materials, per year. Once you complete the course, you will need to complete several additional tasks in the Master Trainer Certification Roadmap to be Certified as an NTER Master Trainer.
